I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize next month's bout.

Ex two-time world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
